Dom is a five-piece band hailing from Worcester, Massachusetts. With fuzzy low-fi distortion, and broken Casio keyboard lines, Dom filters a DIY aesthetic through the upbeat, sunny rhythms of pop music. Originally intended to be an ‘electronic sci-trance’ project, the band was formed in January 2010 by frontman Dom and drummer Bobby after writing the song, ‘Jesus’. They added bassist/guitarist Erik, and recorded their first 7 song EP, Sun Bronzed Greek Gods by March 2010 in Erik’s bedroom using a pink paisley guitar, a Casio keyboard and Fruity Loops. In August 2011 they released the Family of Love EP on Modular People and Astralwerks Records.

“Family of Love” is a small collection of sensory pop tunes, bringing together teenie bop with space rock. Inspired mostly by Mariah Carey, Judy Nylon and David Bowie, the songs reflect a cosmic and sometimes dark vibe via a bubblegum medium. Produced by Nicolas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Bjork), the 5 song EP maintains the hazy, dreamy feel of last year’s “Sun Bronzed Greek Gods”, but expands the quality and dynamic of Dom’s songs in a colorful way.

Dom are releasing a Record Day Exclusive Special, the world’s first 3-sided 10” single exclusively available to Record Store Day participating stores.
